Over the weekend, I was having a look at different techniques in card making and papercraft.
I came across one that was called: "Distress Marker Background". This makes an ideal background for your cards or can be used to make embellishments for your layouts.
Items needed:
- Kaszazz Diamond Background or Chevron Background Stamp
- Perfect Medium Inkpad
- Watercolour paper
- Puff Static Away! Pillow
- White Embossing Powder or Black Embossing Powder
- Heat tool
- Mini Mister filled with water
- Distress Markers in your choice of colours
- Using your Puff Static Away Pillow, wipe over your piece of watercolour paper.
- Stamp your background stamp using Perfect Medium Ink.
- Pour over the White Embossing Powder, and tap gently to remove excess powder.
- Heat stamped image with the heat tool.
- Colour in unembossed areas of your stamped and embossed image using the distress markers.
- Once you have finished colouring in, use your mini mister to spray water onto it.You will see that the colours blend nicely when doing this.
- Dab excess water off with a paper towel. You can dry the image with a heat tool if desired.

Thank you to Jennifer McGuire for sharing this technique on "You Tube".
