Hi Everyone,
Here are the instructions for the cyber crop in April.
This time we will be doing a single photo layout, of course you can change it
up if you like or maybe do some pockets to match after. You will need one 6" x 4"
landscape photo, at least 2 contrasting patterned papers, busy prints will look
good, a big pile of embellishments, masking tape or ribbon and a couple of
plain SB papers, one will need to be full size but the other can be a half
sheet. When I say a big pile of embellishments it can mean buttons, brads,
ribbons, rubons, shrinky's, chipboard...you know what we have and you all have
amazing imaginations. Ink and stamps would be good too, especially a
journalling block if you like to use one for your lines and of course some way
of creating your title! I hope I have given you enough info without giving too
much away. Feel free to ask any questions, this is a fun funky layout, I'm
excited!!!!
Start by choosing a plain SB paper for your base page. Also choose a busy patterned SB paper and cut this to measure 9” across and 12” long. Layer this over the plain paper, with both right hand edges aligned, i.e. there should be a 3” piece of plain SB paper showing on the left hand side. Feel free to stick down if you wish although I prefer to wait until a little further along.

Choose a different patterned paper, and cut to measure 2” across and 10” long, a great way to make use of scrap pieces. Also choose a plain SB paper or very lightly patterned paper to measure 4” across and 9” long. Layer these two pieces with the first piece overlapping the patterned piece on the base page by just enough to show that it is overlapped, leave an even border around the top, left and bottom sides of this piece (this is the 2" x 10” piece.) Now take the other plain piece that you trimmed to 4x9” and lay it down 2.5” in from the left hand edge of the base page in a portrait orientation with an even border top and bottom. This should now be overlapping all the patterned pieces.

You can choose to mat your photo if you wish to, if you do I would suggest a solid colour and a very small mat. Place the photograph in a landscape position 2” down from the top of the page and 1.5” to the right of the left hand edge of the 4" x 9" piece. i.e. it will be overlapping the piece with an edge still showing to the left of the photo.

Create a tag, journaling mat, small pocket or piece of cardstock to measure approx. 2” across and 4-5” long, tuck this under the bottom right hand corner of the photo, you may like to stamp a journaling block etc. on to this piece. Add a piece or ribbon, masking tape, stamp etc. coming out from under this piece along the join of the 4" x 9” piece to cover the join, you may like to make this run a little longer to add a point of difference to the page, i.e. half an inch past the end of the 9” piece or so. Stick everything down now.

Choose yourself a whole collection of embellishments, it might be keys, locks, clocks, chipboard shapes, buttons, brads, stamped images, etc. and layer these over each other down the entire left hand edge of the 4" x 9” piece. Effectively creating a 9” long column of embellishments.
