CYBER CROP: OCTOBER 2012

Hi Everyone,

Here are the instructions for the Cyber Crop that was held in October 2012. A big Thank You to Leeann Koesters for organising it.

***INSTRUCTION 1***
Start by choosing an SB Essential colour for your base page. Also choose a pattern paper to run horizontally across the page, as a suggestion I would go with something that has a smaller or less bold pattern on it (we will go with something bolder later to contrast). Cut this pattern piece to measure 12” wide x 4” long. Using a distressing tool, punch or ezypress create a decorative edge on each of the 12” edges of the patterned piece. Place it on your base page approximately 2.5” down from the top. You should now have a base page with a 4” panel running across the page. Feel free to stick down if you wish although I prefer to wait until a little further along.

*** INSTRUCTION 2***
Choose an SB paper to create a piece measuring 8” wide by 4” long. Distress or decorate the bottom of this piece (the bottom 8” edge). Place this towards the bottom of your page, 2” in from each side and approximately 1.5” up from the bottom of the base page. The top edge of this piece should slightly overlap the patterned piece.

***INSTRUCTION 3***
Using a bolder pattern paper create a strip which is 1” wide x 12” long. Place this on the page over the other pieces approximately 2” in from the left hand edge. This piece will run the full length of the page from top to bottom over the other papers already laid down.

***INSTRUCTION 4***
On the right hand side of the 1” strip add another strip of paper, length of ribbon, rub on etc. that is less than ½” wide, running down the full length of the page. Add a coordinating/matching piece to the left hand side of the 1”paper strip, however this piece will only be 10” long and begin 1” down from the top of the page. This should end up centered ending an inch before the bottom of the page.

***INSTRUCTION 5***
Add your 6x4 portrait photo to the page approximately 1.5” pages down from the top of the page and 4.5” in from the left hand side. Feel free to stick down all your elements if you haven’t done so already. Trim your other photo to be a circle or square 2.75” across. Place this slightly overlapping the right hand side of the portrait photograph and centered over the first patterned piece we used. i.e. the 2.75” circle has even space above and below it on the lightly patterned horizontal piece.

***INSTRUCTION 6***
Another piece of ribbon or paper that matches now needs to run down the right hand side of the portrait photo and finishing under the overlaid circle or square photograph. Ribbon, paper etc. that matches the other vertical strips is ideal.

***INSTRUCTION 7***
Come up with a title, use your chipboard, stamps, stickers etc. and place this below the portrait photo with the word starting in line with the bottom left hand corner of the portrait photo. Add some journaling to the right hand side of this paper placed below the photo. (The 8”x4” piece placed earlier)

***INSTRUCTION 8*** lucky last xxx
Add embellishments to your page with a large cluster at the top left hand corner of the portrait photo, a smaller embellishment on the top right hand corner of the photograph and also the bottom left hand corner of the portrait photograph.
As always, doodle, journal and add your finishing touches!

Here is a picture of the pagemap that we used.
